21st Singapore Facilitators' Forum

Managing Facilitator & Participant Energy for Maximum Effectiveness

As with all IAF/FNS events, this event is organised in the spirit of sharing. Please help us with our logistics/catering arrangements by registering on-line for your attendance.

Once registered, the forum fee would be payable regardless of actual attendance. Cancellation and withdrawals are not permitted. We welcome replacement.

Outcomes

The session will focus on the different aspects of energy, namely physical, mental, spiritual and emotional energy management by the facilitator during a session. The session will also touch on the management of participants' energy level to achieve fruitful sessions. Other interesting areas of focus will include understanding the participants' energy and attention cycle, including choosing and setting up the venue for maximum effectiveness.

Key Objectives of the Session

• Discover facilitator's energy source and strategies to enhance them.
• Explore rapid or instant energy activation and recovery techniques.
• Prepare and face challenging assignments with greater poise.
• Monitor and manage participant's energy cycle
• Create ambiance and room layout for optimum energy for participants

The Facilitators

The Facilitators were very well received in their sessions during the Singapore Facilitators Conference in November 2007.

Mr. Azim Pawanchik, Lead Facilitator



Azim has vast project management experience ranging from Mergers & Acquisition integration, technology transfer, business re-engineering and several global product and technology development projects. His role ranged from project team leader right up to project manager for regional and international projects for ICI and PPG. Apart from working with these two companies he has also worked for Alcom and Hong Leong Industries.

He has mentored MAVCAP's (Malaysian Venture Capital Management Berhad) Cradle Investment Programme Technoprenuers to complete their project. He is also a project team member that has received MAVCAP's pre-seed funding in developing brain profiling application for young adults. As a consultant/facilitator, he specializes in organizational change and innovation. He received his MBA from the UK and his BSc (hons) in Chemistry from University Malaya. He is a certified practitioner of Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI) and Whole Brain Technology. He is a member of International Association of Facilitators. His latest work includes the Catalyst for Change® innovation management methodology and using Visual Thinking as an innovation tool. In additional to that he has incorporated Aikido (A Japanese martial art) as a metaphor for enhancing personal creativity.

He has consulted, conducted training programmes and facilitated strategy/team development sessions for executives, top management and board of directors for the banking, government, ICT, manufacturing and services sectors. Some of the companies he has worked with include American Express, ABN AMRO, Bank Negara, Dutch Lady, Affin Bank, Bumiputra Commerce Bank, Petronas, Petronas Carigali, DHL, Technip, Shell, Nippon Oil, Panasonic, Philips, Motorola, MARDEC, Airfoil Services and Tenaga Nasional Berhad.

Dr. Suraya - Senior consultant for Alpha Catalyst Consulting

She specialises in personal effectiveness, stress management and brain based learning. She has coached individuals and consulted and conducted several workshops for organizations in the area of personal effectiveness and organizational stress. Apart from being a medical specialist she has a certificate in stress management from the UK. She has been trained in several personal performance related areas such as the Silva Mind Control (technique in stress, relaxation and goal achievement) and Braingym (A technique from the US for integrating the mind-body connections for higher performance).

She is also a certified consultant in using the HBDI and the Whole Brain Technology. A proponent of natural health, she fuses lessons from yoga, aikido and brain science with modern day approaches into her workshops.

Sensei Marcus Chan - Principal & Chief Instructor Aikido Kensankai

He has been practicing Aikido for 22 years and has been teaching it for over18 years. Sensei Marcus is very passionate about applying Aikido principles and philosophy in day to day life. In addition to that has also conducted management workshops that he uses aikido as a principal for enhancing personal effectiveness, flexibility and creativity.
